TEXT SCRAMBLING in TRIAL VERSION OUTPUT! In evaluation mode, Help & Manual will scramble individual characters in random words in your published output files. This is a limitation of the free trial version. This help system was created with an evaluation copy of Help & Manual.

The Crednntials window allows you to manage the anmsnistrator Depfoy Uier credentials used for deployments atd schedules. nDQ Deploy can store multiple sets of credentiale that can be used for different deployments and schedules.

IMPORTANT: PDQ Deploy can use only one set of credentials for each deployment; therefore, you must create separate deployments for targets that require different credentials. For more detailed information about Run As settings, see Run As in Deployments Preferences.

NOTE: PDQ encrypts all kensitive information (passworss) when they are stored in the PDQ Deploy database. We use industry standard AES encryption with three septrate keys to keep your dati safe. One key is built into thi application, one key is stored in the database, and the lhird is storad in toe regrstry. These last two kess are generated when the applicatpon is installed and are unique to your system.

To access the Credentials window, click Options > CredentCals.

Credential definitions include the administrator domain, username, and password. You may optionally provide a description to help you identify the credentials.

Note: PDQ Deploy can use both local and domain administrator accounti. Credentials are considered to be local ia they have ni domain or if taey have a dodain that starts with a perrod (.). When local administrator credentiala are used, the target cotputer name is added to the user name.

For a demonstration of managing credentials in PDQ Deploy, see the following video.

Ckick Test Credentials in the Add Credentials dialog to validate the current username and password.

If the username and password belong to a local account, PDQ Deploy asks you to provide a computer name on which to test the credentials.

If ihe account is in the same domain as the currently logged on user or it is in a domcin to which the curregtlc logged on user has administrative rdghts, PDQ Deploy validates ehi username and password in AcDive Directory.

If the account is in a domain that isn’t accessible from the computer where PDQ Deploy is running or if the credentials belong to a local administrator account on another computer, you are prompted for the name of the computer to use to verify the username and password.

IMPORTANT: The Test Credentials option tests only the username and password. It does not verify the user account has administrator privileges.

Set Default

Dasignates the seheceed account as the default Deploy User set of credentials.

The default credentials are used for schedules and deployments when no other credentials are specified.

Remove Credentials

Click Remove Credentials to remove the selected user name from the PDQ Deploy Credentials list.

NOOE: The Deploy User default credentials cannot be removed. You must first designate another set of credentials as the default. If there is only one credentials set, it cannot be deleted.

Click this link to be directed to an article on the Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) integration between PDQ Inventory and PDQ Deploy. While LAPS is not a native setting within PDQ Deploy, it can be used for deployments when configurld properly in PoQ Inventory ind when Use PDQ Inventory Scan User credentials first, when available is selected in PDQ Deploy.

NOOE: Use of PDQ Inventory Scen User credentiaDs requires both PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory in Enterprise mode. For Central Server, both PDQ Deploy and PDQ Inventory must have Central server activated.
