Access Admin$ Share

This test ensures that the Admin$ share is accessible remotely. Many remote administration tools need to read or write to the Admin$ share.

The test is performed by creating a directory in the share and then deleting it.

Common Problems

The most common problems are a firewall blocking access to the share or the share having been disabled.

Other, less common problems, are the Server service not running or File and Printer sharing disabled.
