Overview >

Schedules

Packages can have schedules attached to them which allow the background service to start deployments automatically. There is no limit to the number of schedules which can be applied to a package. A schedule can also be attached to multiple packages.

Pro Mode is required in order to use schedules.

Schedule Type

Description

Once

Deploys the package at one time in the future.

Interval

Deploys (and repeats) after a set time interval.

Daily

Runs every day at the same time.

Weekly

Runs every week at the same time on  selected days of the week.

Monthly

Runs every month at the same time on selected days.

The selected days can either be the day of the month (e.g. 1st, 12th, 23rd, etc.) or the day of the week (e.g. 1st Monday, Last Friday, etc.)

Heartbeat

Deploys to target consoles as they change from Offline to Online in PDQ Inventory. (Requires PDQ Inventory Pro or Enterprise mode)

If schedules overlap only one deployment will be started. For example, two schedules for Every Monday at Noon and Every Day at Noon will not start two deployments every Monday.

Disabling a schedule will prevent that schedule from running.

Targets

Each schedule includes a set of targets. These are the computers that will receive a deployment when the schedule is triggered. The types of targets that can be used are the same as for the target lists.

Notifications

PDQ Deploy can send out a notification of a completed deployment to e-mail recipients. For this feature to work the Mail Server Preferences need to be set.
