Running the PDQ Deploy software requires the following:
Supported Operating Systems
| • | Windows 7, 8, 8.1 (32 or 64 bit) |
| • | Windows Vista SP 2 or later |
| • | Windows Server 2003*, 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2 |
| • | NOTE: PDQ Deploy does not work with Home editions of Windows |
*Server 2003 is supported until Microsoft declares it to be End Of Life (EOL)
PDQ Deploy Computer (where the software is installed)
| • | Microsoft .NET Framework 4 or later. |
| • | Minimum of 2 GB RAM (4 GB or higher recommended) |
| • | Administrator account - Domain account recommended |
| • | DNSClient service running (required for Windows remote communications). |
Target (Managed) Computers
| • | 1 GB RAM (2 GB recommended) |
| • | Administrator account
Account can be either an Active Directory domain account or local to the target computer - Domain account recommended |
Network Connectivity/Firewall
| • | File and Printer Sharing must be enabled |
| • | At a minimum must have read/write access to the ADMIN$ share and the service manager. |
| • | Firewall exception for File and Printer Sharing |
| • | If using Group Policy, then enable firewall exceptions under Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Network\Network Connections\Windows Firewall\Domain Profile. |
| • | A well-maintained DNS environment is highly recommended |
