This editor is used to edit the filters used to determine the Computers in a Collection based on its inventory. The filters are broken out into three distinct sections: Drill Down from Parent CollectionWhen checked the collection filters are only applied to computers that exist in the parent collection. This is useful building collections that drill down to become more specific the deeper you go in the hierarchy. Match/Don't MatchThe Match and Don't Match link is used to indicate whether computers should be included in the collection if they are matches for the filters. All/AnyThe All and Any link is used to indicate whether the computers need to match all of the filters in the collection or only match at least one of them to be included. FiltersEach filter collection contains one or more filter. The filters match computers based on a particular type of data (such as Applications, Services, or Printers). Each filter is made up of one or more field. Filter FieldsWithin each filter are one or more fields. Each type of filter has a fixed set of filters that can be used (e.g. Applications can filter against Name, Publisher, and Version). When more than one field is used for a filter then one item for that computer must match all of them. For example, to see all computers with Acrobat version 9 use one filter with both the Name and Version fields matching the proper values. If two application filters are used one matching the Acrobat name and the other matching the version you will get computers that have any version of Acrobat and any software with a version of 9. This is because both filters look at the installed applications separately. Using a single filter with both the name and version set will yield the expected results.
