Heartbeat

PDQ Inventory uses a heartbeat process to determine when computers are online. Heartbeat uses a ping (ICMP Echo) to verify that the computer is online.  In order for the heartbeat process to work correctly computers must be "pingable" and not have a firewall blocking ICMP echos.

The interval for each heartbeat can be configured in the Heartbeat preferences. The default is 300 seconds (5 minutes).
