Create Active Directory Collections

PDQ Inventory can create collections mirroring the structure of Active Directory when computers are scanned or created through Active Directory Sync. This setting is on by default, but can be turned off if the containers are not relevant to your organization.

If this setting is disabled after some collections have been created they will be deleted as the computers get scanned.

Active Directory Sync

Pro Mode is required to use Active Directory Sync

PDQ Inventory can automatically synchronize with Active Directory by adding new computers as they are added in AD.  The synchronization can be set up with any number of individual containers or groups and be set for a particular period of time.

PDQ Inventory never makes changes to Active Directory.

Pro Mode is required to sync with Active Directory.

Mode

Description

Import Only

The default option, do not delete any computers during a sync.  If a computer is deleted from Active Directory it must be manually deleted from PDQ Inventory.

Mixed Sync

Will only delete computers that are in one of the sync containers. This option will not delete any computers which were added manually.

Full Sync

Deletes all computers that aren't in one of the containers, including computers that were added manually or via another source. Use this option to make PDQ Inventory mirror the computers in Active Directory exactly.

Note PDQ Inventory only takes into consideration the computers that are in the selected containers. When a computer is moved to a container that is not being included it will be treated as though it was deleted from Active Directory and may be deleted, depending on the Delete Mode setting.

Sync Disabled Computers

Sets whether to sync computers which are disabled in Active Directory.

Containers

A list of the containers that are currently being synchronized along with the Credentials that are used and whether to include the sub tree (child containers).
