New Report Engine

This section is intended for users upgrading from version 2.0 or earlier.  If you're new to PDQ Inventory then you can skip this information.

Version 2.1 of PDQ Inventory introduces a new Report/Collection engine and interface.  The new engine has the following advantages over the old.

•Faster.  In some cases much faster, especially for larger reports.

•Integrated interface.  Reports and Collections now share the same interface for filtering.  Collections are now just essentially reports that list computers.  Filters can be copied and pasted between reports and collections making it much easier to move from one to the other.

•Nested filter groups.  Nesting groups of filters makes it possible to create reports and collections that in the past would have required creating an SQL report or multiple collections.

The new interface should still feel familiar as they basics of entering filter criteria are still very similar.  It's possible to create reports and collections in the same fashion as 2.0 without using any new features and ease into them as you go.
