Policy

Description

Attempt deployment

Always try to deploy to offline computers, may result in offline errors.

Do not attempt deployment

Never attempt to deploy to offline computers. Performs a ping (ICMP echo) before attempting the deployment.

Wake-on-LAN then attempt deployment

Sends a Wake-on-LAN to the target computer and deploys if it comes online. Attempts to deploy after 90 seconds if the computer is still offline.

Pro Mode is required to use Wake-on-LAN option.

Note  Wake-on-LAN option requires PDQ Inventory to be installed and the computer to have been scanned to get its MAC address.

Timeout

Specify how many minutes deployments should run before being timed out by the server.

This timeout applies only to the time of deployment to a single computer.

Cleanup

The cleanup process ensures that old deployment history is cleared out.

You can set this value higher or lower depending on how many deployments you create and for how long you wish to see the results of finished deployments.

The default age is 30 days (i.e. one month after the deployment finished).

Setting the cleanup to 0 days will disable automatic cleanup and all deployments will need to be deleted manually.

Scanning

Initiate a scan with PDQ Inventory after a successful deployment. The computer must already be in PDQ Inventory with a name or host name that matches the name used in PDQ Deploy.

This can also be set in individual packages which will override the program wide setting here.

Pro Mode is required to use scanning.

Note  Requires PDQ Inventory version 2.0 Release 4 or later in Pro Mode.
